Paris most definitely came to Southport recently, when Southport College Hospitality and Catering students wowed members of the public with their sell-out French-themed Dining Night at Clouds Restaurant.
From the decor to the food, this bistro experience gave customers a taste of genuine French culture and cuisine, showcasing our students’ wonderful talents.
A Southport College spokesperson said: “Theme nights are entirely student-led. Our students are given creative control of all aspects from deciding the food and cocktail menu, food preparation, and transforming Clouds Restaurant into their chosen theme, this time a Parisian-style bistro.
“Catering students planned and ran our industry standard kitchens, producing their fantastic three-course set menu, including options such as French onion soup, pan-fried duck, sea bass and tarte tatin to finsih!
“Our Hospitality students really brought the theme to life, decorating and running the restaurant and ensured a smooth service by providing a fantastic customer experience.
“We are incredibly proud of our talented hospitality and catering students. Their dedication, passion, and commitment to excellence were on full display at this sell-out event. We look forward to seeing them continue to flourish at future events.
“This is one of many examples of the unique student experience here at Southport College where classroom learning is partnered with hands-on industry experience in every aspect of hospitality and catering management.
“At Clouds Restaurant, our students host lots of themed lunches and evening meals throughout the academic year, and it’s all open to the public, allowing anyone to experience the talents of our students first-hand.”
