Southport’s independent cinema is asking people to wear face coverings in the auditorium whe close to other people as Covid restrictions are eased today (Monday, 19th July).
‘Freedom Day’ begins today, with the easing of a number of Covid restrictions – but with growing Covid numbers in Sefton, many businesses and organisations in Southport will continue to ask people to wear face coverings including many supermarkets and shops, and on public transport.
Southport Bijou Cinema Manager Andy Harrison said: “Today marks the first day where masks and social distancing are not legally required in cinemas.
“However, in order to keep yourself and others safe, we can only advise people to wear them in the cinema when in close proximity to other people and not eating or drinking.”
