Southport African Caribbean Heritage Association (SACHA) has thanked everyone involved for making its hair care event a huge success. 

SACHA hosted ‘Caring For Kinks, Coils and Curls – a guide to black and mixed hair care’ at Crossens Community Centre in Southport on Saturday (17th February 2024). 

Guests at the event were able to enjoy product recommendations, free samples, styling demonstrations, activities for children, plus a range of traditional African and Caribbean food. 

Gemma Collins from the Southport African Caribbean Heritage Association (SACHA) said: “We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you who joined us on Saturday for the SACHA Hair care event. It was an absolute delight to have you with us as we indulged in an enriching and enjoyable day filled with all things hair and skin care.

“A special thank you goes out to Latisha from Rae Shea and Latoya from Teyes Eyes for introducing us to their incredible range of hair, skin, and eye products. Your expertise and passion for your craft truly shone through, and we are grateful for the opportunity to sample your wonderful creations.

“We are also incredibly thankful to Nadia for curating the event and showcasing the free samples and providing valuable advice on selecting products tailored to individual hair types. Your dedication to helping others achieve their best hair care regimen is truly appreciated.

“Maggie, your demonstration on cornrowing, braiding, and adding extensions was nothing short of inspiring. Your talent and skill left us all in awe, and we are grateful for the invaluable knowledge you shared with us.

“A big round of applause to Nanny Pearl’s and Nadia for the fabulous spread of food that kept us fueled throughout the event. Your culinary talents truly added to the overall enjoyment of the day.

“A heartfelt thank you to all the members and newcomers who contributed various items and joined our ever-growing community. Your presence and support are what make our gatherings so special.

“Lastly, a warm welcome goes out to the children who joined us. We hope you enjoyed making crowns and colouring in the craft room. Your creativity and energy added an extra layer of joy to the event.

“It was truly heartwarming to see familiar faces from Southport, Preston, and Liverpool, as well as meeting new friends for the first time. Our community continues to grow, and we are overjoyed to have each and every one of you as part of it.

“Thank you once again to everyone who made today a memorable and enriching experience. We look forward to many more gatherings filled with shared knowledge, creativity, and camaraderie.”
