One of the world’s most legendary soul and motown singers is coming to perform two dates in Southport this summer.
George McCrae achieved worldwide fame when his 1974 hit ‘Rock Your Baby’ went to number one in both the UK and the US, selling 11 million copies worldwide.
Music lovers will be able to see George McCrae supported by well-known soul singer Steve Charles at The Bold on Lord Street in Southport on Friday 27th June 2025 and then at The Grand on Lord Street in Southport on Sunday 29th June 2025.
Both nights include a one-course meal and a great night of entertainment.
‘Rock Your Baby’ was so successful that Rolling Stone magazine voted it the No. 1 song of the year in 1974] while McCrae received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Male R&B Vocalist the following year.
Two further single releases, ‘I Can’t Leave You Alone’ and ‘It’s Been So Long’ also reached the UK Singles Chart Top 10, while McCrae has released 15 albums over a long and successful career.

During his singing career he has successfully worked alongside performers including The Drifters, Edwin Starr, Jimmy James, Barry White, The Real Thing and Sir Cliff Richard to name but a few.
Steve prides himself on quality and professionalism throughout all of his performances and now finds himself commanding centre stage at top venues worldwide.
