Home electrical retailer Smiths TV has joined forces with the UK’s leading two-person delivery provider Panther Logistics in a bid to take their business to the next level.

Smiths TV customers will now benefit from Panther’s next day and weekend delivery services as well as their wet installation and removal of old appliance offerings. Panther Group will be collecting stock out of Smiths TV’s warehousing facility in Lancashire and distributing items throughout the UK.

A family-owned company that is steeped in history, Smiths TV’s beginnings can be traced back 110 years ago, during which time it was originally renowned for selling top of the range pianos. Its offering continued to evolve selling old gramophones prior to becoming the leading TV and home appliances retailer it is today.

Fast forward to the present day and the fast-expanding business now boasts four showrooms across the North West in Lancashire, with its fifth generation family member, Mark Wright, currently running the business.

Having experienced exponential growth in recent years – with its turnover doubling year on year since the upgrade of its online website in 2017 and broadening its delivery scope nationally – Smiths TV sought out the services of Panther to not only cater to current demand, but also to gear up for further forecast growth.

The company also made the switch from its previous two-person delivery partner to scale its final-mile offering after seeing that there was a growing need from its customers for next day and weekend delivery.

With extensive experience in the electronics and home appliance markets, James Langer, Business Development Manager at Panther Logistics believes the two-person white glove delivery experts are well placed to take Smiths TV final mile offering to the next level. James Langer said:

“Smiths TV is a historic brand that has a long, and proud history of delivering excellence to its much-valued customers and as such we are delighted to help them scale their delivery offering through our flexible range of services.

“The company is on an upward trajectory which makes working with them and helping them to scale further a thoroughly exciting prospect – and our extensive experience in the marketplace coupled with our flexible and market-leading delivery offering gives us the confidence that we will fast become an integral asset to Smiths TV and play a significant role in enhancing their brand in the years to come.”

Mark Wright, Director at Smiths TV also said:

“Appointing a two-person delivery partner that not only provided a flexible delivery offering, but also had the capacity to cater to increased volumes was paramount when choosing the right partner.

“We had known of Panther for some time and its reputation within the marketplace spoke for itself, so after recently investing £1 million into a new warehousing facility in Lancashire, we thought it was a perfect time to scale our delivery offering to complement this.

“The decision to join forces with Panther Logistics was largely prompted by listening to our customers and to cater to the needs and wants of the modern-day consumer. Panther’s flexible offering ticked both of these boxes and more as they allowed us as a brand to essentially become a differentiator within our marketplace overnight.”

Mark continued: “Through Panther’s next day and weekend delivery offering as well as the professionalism of its service, our customers are now able to dictate when they receive their items, not the other way around, which has furthermore propelled our brand to new and greater heights.

As a result of this, we have actually witnessed a sharp uptick in sales and the customers seem delighted with the overall service.

“It was vital to us that upon finding a two-person delivery partner that our customers would come away with the highest level of satisfaction that can be achieved, and in our short trading journey with Panther Logistics we can say with confidence that this is being achieved and more.”
