And best of all…..

Best Pantomime for Snow White!

All Souls Dramatic Club Director Cliff Gillies said: “What a fab night at the NODA (National Operatic And Dramatic Association) Awards.

“The team at All Souls smashed it for Snow White!

“The event is such a huge and prestigious event for amateur dramatics. Held in the DW stadium it’s often called the ‘am dram Oscars’.

“We all got dressed up in our finest tuxedos and ball gowns.  It was so exciting.

“It was amazing to see so many people from different towns and cities together under a common love of entertaining people.

“What was particularly gratifying to see was the amount of Southport societies nominated, and winning,  and those societies cheering each other on.

“We missed out on best choreography, best director, best dame and best female lead but took home several others.

“We loved the evening.  Winning in all those categories was so special to us.

“We just want to make the best show possible and to create magic and memories for people but to be seen, by your peers, as the best of the best is both humbling and hugely gratifying.

“It was wonderful to be singled out for Best Production and Tech as we pride ourselves on that element of our shows.

“Hayley winning Best Villain and Jo winning for best comedy performance are not only testament to their talent but it is a great example of why people enjoy our shows… drama and comedy together.

“Personally I’m incredibly proud of everyone in my team, everyone in All Souls.  We’ve come a long way in the last few years.

“They did me proud.  They did Southport proud.

“On that note, our panto now goes forward to the awards at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool in May. Hopefully we will be crowned best pantomime in the whole North West.

“Overall last night was a proud and emotional moment for All Souls, a feather in the cap for The Atkinson and a shout out to the region that Southport is where it’s at!”
