Business leaders from a range of sectors came together for the first ever Sefton Visitor Economy Sustainability Task Force Meeting today (Wednesday 6th November 2024).

The task force was set up on behalf of Sefton’s Tourism Team and headed by Tracy Holgate, with businesses from across the borough being invited to begin Sefton’s Visitor Economy sustainability journey.

This gathering is the first of many, setting a precedent for promoting sustainability and regenerative practices in the hospitality sector.

The first meeting included guests from a range of sectors such as accommodation, events, bars, restaurants, visitor attractions and more.

A Sefton Council spokesperson said: “The task force is here to provide excellent networking opportunities, inspire creative ideas, cultivate long-lasting partnerships, and promote sustainable practices that benefit everyone involved, and most importantly, to make a difference!

“A huge thank you to all that attended, and to The Prince of Wales Hotel in Southport for hosting.”
