The brand new Sandgrounders Business Club in Southport is now up and running!
The first event, held at Southport Football Club, was a great success with the second gathering due to take place on Thursday, 14th September 2023.
The Sandgrounders Business Club is a new initiative which allows local business people in Southport and the surrounding area to gather in a positive, relaxed and friendly environment.
It is free to attend and there is no pressure on how many events you attend.

The club is a great way for local businesses to grow their connections, meet like-minded people and develop new contacts at the Big Help Stadium – without the costs sometimes involved with networking.
A paid bar at Southport FC is available during the meetings, with free parking available outside the stadium.
The Sandgrounders Business Club takes place at Southport Football Club on Haig Avenue on the second Thursday of each month.
It is a relaxed, informal gathering, with guest speakers at each event and the opportunity to sponsor meetings.
The first session saw a guest speech by Mike Black from Big Help Project, which is sponsoring the Southport FC stadium this season.
Mike spoke about the incredible work the Big Help Project is carrying out in the local community across Merseyside, and how he is keen to become involved in new projects in Southport.
The Sandgrounders Business Club is organised by Southport Football Club, Birkdale Insurance Group, Midgley Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning and Stand Up For Southport.

Birkdale Insurance Group Development Executive Chris Harding said:

Stand Up For Southport owner Andrew Brown said:

“We had a great response from local business people in the room, and we are looking forward to welcoming more visitors at our next event this September.

Steve Dewsnip, Southport FC’s Head of Commercial and Operations said:
“The club is already well connected within the Southport community, and we are very grateful for the continuing support we receive from a number of local businesses both in Southport and beyond.
“We wanted to be able to give something back, by creating the new Sandgrounders Business Club events and this will not just be beneficial to the club, it will also benefit the Southport business community.”

Midgley Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning owner Aaron Midgley said:
“We are lining up a great list of guest speakers and would love to see local businesses come to the events and see for themselves the benefits it can bring.”
Arrival for the events is at 5pm for open networking, with a 5.45pm start with a guest speaker, a sponsor speaker, and a Southport FC round-up, followed by open networking.

The meetings are open to businesses within Southport and beyond, with firms from West Lancashire and Sefton very welcome.
