The Seaside Weekender is expected to attract around 20,000 visitors into Southport across the weekend.

Southport Flower Show and Victoria Park Events General Manager Alan Adams said: “The park is ready to welcome all our guests this weekend to the Seaside Weekender Music Festival taking place between Friday and Sunday.

“Approximately 20,000 will descend on the town over the three days.

“Not only is this event valuable income for the park but it’s also great for the local economy.

“Hopefully it’s going to give a big boost to lots of local hotels, guest houses, restaurants, bars, shops, taxi firms, and others.

“We know that lots of people coming to the Seaside Weekender are staying over and enjoying all that our town has to offer.

“It has been great working with the organisers of this event, Jaly Concerts.

“They have extended the Seaside Weekender to three days this year and are really keen to develop their offering over the coming years.”

Seaside Weekender organiser James Daly, owner of Jaly Concerts, said: “It is fantastic to be back for our third year running in Southport.

“This is the first time that we have staged an event on the Friday night, to add to what we have on the Saturday and the Sunday, which have been a great success.

“It will be a superb weekend at Victoria Park with a very eclectic mix of different acts performing each day.

“We are really looking forward to the Seaside Weekender.”

The next big event coming up at Victoria Park is the 2023 Southport Flower Show.

Alan said: “Once the Seaside Weekender finishes work starts on setting up the Flower Show when we expect over 55,000 across four days 17th-20th August 2023.

“Not long to rest before another very busy September with the Air Show, Classic and Speed, Fireworks and Southport Comedy Festival, then Oktoberfest, HalloweenFest and Ice Skating to finish the year.

“Bring it on!”
