Roller skating at Southport YMCA is back!

Sessions have been put on hold since the coronavirus lockdown in March.

But people will now be able to get their boots back on thanks to a relaxation in lockdown restrictions.

A Southport YMCA spokesman said: “With the new Government announcement, we are going to be opening on Friday evening for Roller Skating and then back to the normal sessions times from Saturday.

“The first Friday session times will be 4pm-5.30pm and 6pm-7.30pm.

“Session times will then be back to normal from the Saturday onwards.”

The facility will be operating a telephone booking system to secure the limited places for roller skating sessions.

During the Summer Holidays there will be four sessions per day Sundays to Thursdays and five sessions on Fridays and Saturdays.

Bookings will be by phone.

A Southport YMCA spokesman said: “On the call we will require your track and trace details. “We will need to know how many are roller skating and the number of guests. You are allowed one guest per skater.

“If your chosen session is already full, we will then offer you an alternative time, hopefully the same day.

“We expect to sell out very quickly so phone to book early to avoid disappointment.

“If there is no answer please leave a voicemail and we will get back to you.”

Bookings will be open through calling Southport YMCA Monday to Friday 11am-6pm on 07761698757.
