Royle Family and Brookside legend Ricky Tomlinson is joining local singer and writer Asa Murphy in bringing a special night to the new Connolly’s Irish pub in Southport this summer

Royle Family and Brookside legend Ricky Tomlinson is joining local singer and writer Asa Murphy in bringing a special night to the new Connolly’s Irish pub in Southport this summer.

A Right Royle Night Of Entertainment will take place at the pub, on King Street in Southport town centre, on Saturday, 3rd August 2024.

Entry is free and includes a chance for people to enjoy a meet and greet with Ricky Tomlinson.

Connolly’s opened its doors in May this year, revitalising the former Coronation pub site.

Owner Julie Goodwin said: “The ultimate event is coming Connolly’s!

“Join us on Saturday 3rd of August for a right Royle night! We have the legendary Ricky Tomlinson and Asa Murphy hosting a night of award winning music from the musical Irish Annies and there’ll also be a meet and greet with Ricky Tomlinson himself!

“And the best part is… It’s free entry for all!

“Now if that’s not the luck of the Irish, we don’t know what is!

“Join us for one night only from 7pm – and you don’t want to be late!”

The Coronation, on King Street in Southport’s Market Quarter, will be transformed in three phases.

Phase one has seen the opening of a brand new Irish themed pub, Connolly’s.

Stylish new rooms will then open in Katherine’s Wine Bar with Rooms along with spa facilities in the floors above in phase two.

The final phase will see Katherine’s Wine Bar open on the ground floor adjacent to Connolly’s.

The scheme is being led by Julie Goodwin, who has recently reopened the historic Cheshire Lines Inn pub on nearby King Street.
