“Some of them are for personal training sessions, we also beauty hampers, baby products, a laser treatment voucher, nail vouchers, there are lots of really great prizes.

“If you want to purchase a raffle ticket, it is £2 a strip or £5 for three strips.

“Please let me know if you are purchasing some via our JustGiving page https://www.justgiving.com/page/christmasmakeup and we can give you a raffle ticket virtually. I would need your full name and phone number.”

Rosie is an insurance broker and social media influencer. Many people will recognise her from her food and lifestyle posts on her rosiefeasts Instagram page

She has been inspired to organise her event and raffle after the devastating death of her Dad, Howard Cleave, “an incredible family man” who was very loved by his family.

Rosie is distraught that “the most important man of my life is no longer a phone call away” after his tragic death aged 69.

Rosie is teaming up with close friend Amanda Borg, one of the top makeup artists in the UK, to organise the unique Christmas Makeup Masterclass Fundraiser.

Tickets are £30 each and include:

  • Glass of prosecco on arrival
  • Christmas Party Makeup Masterclass
  • Live Q&A with Amanda Borg
  • Nibbles

Rosie, aged 36, said: “Amanda Borg and I are organising a Christmas makeup fundraiser event for the MND Association at the Southport Coaster on Sunday 3rd December 2023.

“This event is being arranged in memory of my Dad who passed from ALS, a type of degenerative motor neurone disease, six weeks ago.

“He was an incredible man. An intelligent, kind and generous family man.

“I’m working with over 20 local Southport businesses to make it a really good afternoon of Christmas style makeup and a raffle with lots of prizes.

“The masterclass will be taught by local makeup artist, Amanda Borg, who has recently been nominated as a finalist in the top 10 best bridal makeup artists in the UK at the upcoming Beauty and Aesthetics Awards 2023.

“We aim to sell between 100-200 tickets and raise around £3,000 for the MND Association Merseyside branch.”

The Motor Neurone Disease Association supports everyone living with and affected by MND to access the help and support they need.

Whether you want to speak to the charity over the phone, connect with others affected by MND or find local support, you can discover different ways of finding help.

The organisation funds research, improves care and provides support for people with MND, their families and carers.
