Queenie, the mascot for Queenscourt Hospice in Southport

Queenscourt Hospice in Southport has launched a new initiative inspired by its popular mascot Queenie, which encourages supporters to become ‘Queenie’s Hospice Heroes.’

In celebration of #30YearsofQueenscourt, Queenie has been transformed into a Pearly Queen, complete with a matching jacket and hat. Upholding the tradition of Pearly Kings and Queens to raise money for charities, Queenie is hoping to recruit supporters old and new to become her Hospice Heroes.

The celebrations the hospice had planned for its Pearl Anniversary year have had to be altered significantly in light of Covid restrictions, as have so many of its fundraising activities.

With this in mind, Queenie has set out three simple, yet very important ways, in which you can help #teamqueenscourt to continue providing compassionate care for another 30 years and beyond:

1 – The first is by setting up a regular gift every month, which will provide a sustainable source of much-needed income

2 – The second is by making a one-off donation to Queenscourt’s Pearl Anniversary Appeal

3 – The third is by completing your own fundraising challenge and sharing your pictures online to inspire others

By completing any, or even all of these requests, you will become one of Queenie’s Hospice Heroes!

Kate Tipton-Thomas, Head of Income Generation and Communications at Queenscourt, said, “#teamqueenscourt continues to deliver compassionate care all day every day, for local people and their families when they need us the most.

“We simply couldn’t do this without the continuing support of our wider community. As we celebrate this special 30th Anniversary milestone, we want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who supports Queenscourt, and to invite even more people to become ‘Queenie’s Hospice Heroes’.  Your support can make all the difference.”

Will you become a Hospice Hero?
