The annual Poppy Appeal has been officially launched in Southport.
Southport MP Patrick Hurley and Mayor of Sefton, Cllr Jen Corcoran, joined representatives of Royal British Legion Southport, local veterans and cadets at the Armed Forces Hub on Wesley Street on Saturday (24th October 2026).
You’ll be able to see volunteers out selling poppies and other Remembrance items in the lead-up to Remembrance Sunday.

The Southport Royal British Legion Poppy Shop opened on Thursday (22nd October 2026) for anyone who would like to call in.
Wreaths, poppies and other Poppy Appeal merchandise are available.
The Poppy Shop, staffed by amazing RBL volunteers, is open from 10am-2pm Tuesday to Saturday until Remembrance Sunday.
Payment can be made by cash, card, cheque, Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Also look out for volunteers and local cadets who will be out and about around town over the next few weekends.
In addition, Poppy Appeal merchandise will be available in schools, supermarkets and a wide variety of other community collection points right across the Southport area.

For full details of their locations, please drop into the Poppy Shop on Wesley Street.
Any enquiries relating to the Poppy Appeal can be directed to the Poppy Shop on 01704 651947.
