People in Sefton can now play Comedy Bingo online – and it is free to play!
Online Comedy Bingo is run by renowned North West comedian Brendan Riley.
Brendan, who is also director of the annual Southport Comedy Festival, will host his first show from 7pm this Wednesday (April 29).
The fun event has been made possible thanks to Sefton Borough of Culture 2020, which has already funded a number of other interactive online events to allow people in Sefton to raise a smile during the coronavirus lockdown.
Online Comedy Bingo is free to play but you need to book in advance by messaging the organisers via the Sefton Comedy Hub Facebook page. All they will need is your email to send you your Bingo Cards and instructions on how to play.
Places are limited so it will be first come, first served.
An Online Comedy Bingo trial show took place last Saturday and can be seen on the Sefton Comedy Hub page.
Organiser Brendan Riley said: “We are looking forward to doing Comedy Bingo online! It is all part of this year’s Sefton Borough Of Culture celebrations.
“It will be child friendly and suitable for families to take part and enjoy.
“I am looking forward to hosting shows twice a week.”
Thousands of people have already taken part in Brendan’s Comedy Bingo nights, at events across Sefton. This is the first time they have been broadcast live for people to enjoy from home. Those who haven’t played before are in for a treat.

Brendan said: “Comedy Bingo is an interactive, traditional bingo night, with a really fun element to it.
“I have been running them for the past five years, but this is the first time they have gone online!
“Since the coronavirus lockdown came into force, we have all been missing the interaction of seeing other people and having fun. Imaginative online events like this are a great way of helping to fill that gap.
“It is quite nice that people are now starting to turn their hands to something they may not have tried a year ago, or before this lockdown happened.”
Cllr Trish Hardy Sefton Council’s main Borough of Culture sponsor said: “At this time when it’s so important that people maintain social distancing to beat Covid-19, I am delighted that our Borough of Culture 2020 team has been able to work with these arts, culture and community groups to develop projects that will help lift local people’s spirits and provide fun things for people of all ages to do.
“I look forward to seeing all the creativity contained in our local communities expressed and on display through this exciting range of projects.
“Taking culture to people’s homes, phones, laptops and tablets, they have created exciting activities that will keep people entertained and go a long way to helping them cope during periods of isolation, whether alone or as a family.”
