The charity that manages some of the largest family events in Southport including the Bonfire, Santa Float and Mad Dog 10K is bringing the famous yellow 6-foot teddy bear out of hibernation for the weekend to visit the schools and businesses of Southport on Friday 18th November 2022.

Marc Foreman, Chairman of Southport Hesketh Round Table, is expecting a huge response for visits with Pudsey Bear within Southport and the local communities.

He said: “2021 was the most schools and local businesses visited ever in a day for us!

“It was a truly tremendous effort with over £800 raised and we hope to beat it this year raising more money from donations for BBC1’s Children In Need day.

“If any schools within Southport would like a quick visit for photos get in contact with me directly.

“Also, if any local businesses would like a photo and pass over any donations raised for the Children In Need charity, we bank it on behalf of them directly, so it’s a win-win scenario for everyone – please let us know before 11th November 2022.

“It’s also coming up to that time of year organising the Santa float routes so we are also on the search for local charities and community projects that would like to assist us on our nightly routes across the town.

“Last year was the first time we had various sponsors too for the routes, so if any local businesses would like to sponsor a night with a ‘shout-out from Santa’ contact us on our Facebook page before 18th November 2022.”

If anyone would like to join, volunteer or assist Southport Hesketh Round Table in the future please get in contact with them via their Facebook page Southport Hesketh Round Table 1199.
