Time To Shine Awards. Claire Albo is presented with the People's Health hero Awards by Stand Up For Southport Director Andrew Brown

A hospital midwife who has been described as the “most caring compassionate woman I’ve ever met’’ has been awarded the People’s Health Hero Award at the 2023 Time To Shine Awards.

The glittering event, which honoured employees working at Southport Hospital and Ormskirk Hospital, was held at Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa.

A range of awards were given to our local NHS heroes in categories including Clinical Team of the Year, Compassion in Action Award, Everyday Excellence Award and more.

People’s Health Hero is a very special award, in the only category where nominations are invited from members of the public.

Claire Albo is a midwife who has been described by local people as an “outstanding lady who is willing to help in any way.’’

Claire is someone who goes above and beyond to help everyone in her care and provides vital support for families, often when they need it most.

Her People’s Health Hero Award was presented to her on stage at the event by Stand Up For Southport Founder Andrew Brown.

The night also saw recognition given to two exceptional finalists.

Dr Simeon Kehinde is someone who always goes the extra mile for his patients and gives them his full attention, meeting their every need at all times.

He is described as being “loved by the patients because he is kind and considerate and always has a very happy smile on his face.’’

Adam Stanley is a newly qualified nurse on the Children’s Ward at Ormskirk Hospital and has made a huge impact in a short period of time.

His positivity shines through every day and he constantly receives praise from the patients and families that he cares for.

Individuals and teams from a wide range of areas were celebrated for their “amazing commitment’’ to providing the best possible care for local patients and their families at the 2023 Time to Shine Awards.

It was hosted by Liverpool radio personality Peter Price while sponsors included Vinci Facilities, Hill Dickinson and Weightmans.

Chief Executive Ann Marr OBE said: I have been highly impressed by all of the inspiring nominations we received from colleagues, patients and members of the public and the message I would like to pass on is that you should never underestimate the difference you make to those around you, each and every day.’’
