Occulo Lounge in Southport is embracing this summer’s World Cup fever by organising a 5-a-Side Charity Tournament – and they’d love to see local teams sign up to take part!
This fun event is among Occulo Lounge’s month of fundraising events to support the Southport FC Community Foundation.
It is part of their annual LoungeAid community programme, which sees Loungers venues across the UK holding a variety of events supporting their own local initiatives throughout the month of June.
The 5-a-Side Charity Tournament will take place at KGV Sixth Form College on Scarisbrick New Road in Southport on Monday 29th June 2026.
Teams are invited to sign up whether you’re a work team, a group of friends, an organisation or more.
The Southport FC Community Foundation LoungeAid 5-a-Side Charity Tournament is set to be the finale of the LoungeAid fundraising month — a day built around football, community, hospitality, and raising as much money as possible for charity.
The invitation is open for teams from local businesses to sign up and take part.
The aim is to create a fun, competitive, and highly social tournament that showcases the community spirit within Southport while supporting a great cause.
Entry will cost £5 per person, with no strict cap on number of entries at this stage as Occulo Lounge wants to involve as many businesses and organisations as possible.
The goal is simple: bring the community together, create a brilliant atmosphere, raise as much money as possible for charity, and finish LoungeAid month with one final unforgettable event.

Occulo Lounge, on the corner of Lord Street and Nevill Street, celebrated its third birthday on Sunday 7th June 2026.
Each year in June, every Lounge venue across the UK chooses a charity to raise money for. This good cause is often linked with the local community or a Lounge employee. Throughout the month, a series of events is then held to raise money.
In Southport, Occulo Lounge has chosen to support the Southport FC Community Foundation, which delivers a range of sports programmes, education and employability support for young people, and wider community initiatives focused on wellbeing, reducing isolation, and youth engagement.
Occulo Lounge Supervisor and Community Manager Matty Lumsden said:

“We’re enjoying working with Scott Blundell and his team from the club.
“We have been impressed by all the work that the Southport FC Community Foundation does for local people in our town.
