The new Queenscourt Hospice charity shop in Ainsdale Village in Southport is now open.
The shop, in the former Smiths TV unit at 84 Station Road, was officially opened by Ainsdale in Bloom Chair Brenda Porter and local singer Kelly Bond, with entertainment provided by the Ukulele Buddies.
It adds to existing Queenscourt shops on Chapel Street Southport town centre; Cambridge Road in Churchtown; Bispham Road in High Park; Brows Lane in Formby; Church Road in Tarleton; and Liverpool Road North in Burscough.
A Queenscourt Hospice spokesperson said: “What an incredible day!
“A huge thank you to everyone who joined us on Friday to celebrate the grand opening of our brand new Queenscourt Hospice Charity Shop in Ainsdale. It was fantastic to see so many friendly faces supporting this exciting new chapter.
“From Brenda Porter, Chairman of Ainsdale in Bloom, officially cutting the ribbon alongside professional performer Kelly Bond, to brilliant live music from the Ukulele Buddies, the day was full of smiles, community spirit and plenty of bargain hunting!
“We were also delighted to welcome two special guests from TikTok, the much-loved Trashy Treasure Hunters, who joined us to celebrate this exciting new addition to the Ainsdale community.

“As we move through 2026, Queenscourt Hospice is facing the most significant financial challenge in our history. Every purchase, every donation and every visit to one of our charity shops helps us continue providing exceptional, compassionate care and support for patients and their families across West Lancashire, Southport & Formby.

In April, Queenscourt Hospice announced that it will be reducing its in-patient ward from ten to five beds, as it continues to face financial uncertainty.
The news comes just four weeks after the hospice stated that it was being forced to consider reducing the vital services it provides for patients, as it continues to operate with a £2 million deficit.
Queenscourt Hospice has been providing compassionate care for the people of West Lancashire, Formby and Southport for the past 35 years.They care for patients with serious illnesses, enabling them to achieve the best possible quality of life at each new stage.
Queenscourt cares for patients both in the hospice and at home through their In-Patient Unit, Queenscourt Connect and Queenscourt at Home services. Queenscourt requires over 100 professional staff members to stay open, including Doctors, Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, Physiotherapists and many other roles.
