A new Adult Mental Health Crisis Cafe has opened in Southport, as a safe place for anyone who needs help and support.

It is open to all adults over 18.

It is based in Parenting 2000’s Alchemy Hall in the grounds of Parenting 2000 on Mornington Road in Southport.

On Suicide Prevention Day, Cafe Manager Sherran Robb was keen to let people know about the vital service it provides.

She said: “I manage the new Adult Mental Health Crisis Cafe in Southport, on Mornington Road.

“We offer a welcoming and supportive space for anyone suffering with mental health distress during evenings at the weekend, as an alternative place of safety to A&E.

“We are a new service run by Sefton CVS and commissioned collaboratively via Southport and Formby CCG, Sefton Council and Mersey Care NHS Foundation trust.

“It’s just a non-clinical conversation space.

“We make people feel welcome with a brew and a chat.

“We’re open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday 5pm-11pm.

“We can also offer phone support or people can just drop in.

“Call us on 0300 323 0197 to chat or email crisiscafe@seftoncvs.org.uk to find out more.”
