A brand new bakery is rising to the challenge of opening on Lord Street in Southport town centre.

The Lord Street Bakery is in the process of transforming the former Beer Inn unit at 657 Lord Street, in the Northern Quarter of town.

The new venture would supply freshly baked pies, pastries, sandwiches and cakes.

It comes at a positive time for new investment on Lord Street, with work taking place nearby on the new Digz’n ‘Lidz cafe and a new restaurant in the former Bistrot Pierre restaurant building on the corner of Lord Street and Nevill Street. .

New businesses which have already opened on Lord Street this year include Coffee King, VS Jewels & Workshop and Drishti Point Yoga.

A Lord Street Bakery spokesperson said: “Something new is coming to Lord Street…

“We’re delighted to introduce Lord Street Bakery, a brand-new independent bakery opening at the northern end of Lord Street.

“Whether you’re popping into town for lunch, picking up your favourite pie or pasty, or simply fancy a cheeky slice of cake, we’ll have plenty of favourites waiting for you.

“We’re busy getting everything ready behind the scenes and can’t wait to open our doors.

“There’s lots more to share over the coming weeks, so keep an eye on our social media pages for updates and a few sneak peeks along the way.

“We look forward to welcoming you very soon!”
