It is part of substantial investment being made at Ocean Plaza Leisure in the coming weeks.

Stand Up For Southport recently revealed how work is also taking place currently to create the brand new Good Hood southport eatery.

The Good Hood will open at Ocean Plaza Leisure soon after the success of its New York style eateries in West Kirkby and New Brighton.

The Good Hood is “home to home-made burger patties, unique NYC pizza slabs, butter-fried chicken, and cocktails that are off the hook!”

The owners for the keys to their brand new family-run business on 8th January and are putting the finishing touches together towards opening “in less than a month”, although the exact opening date has not yet been revealed.

On their Instagram page, they said: “Get ready for an epic journey as we transform this space into the ultimate haven for the best burgers, pizzas, sides, and desserts in the North of England. Join our family-run adventure!

“Get ready, Southport! The best burgers from the Wirral are making their way to town this month. The Good Hood is coming to level up your dining experience!

“The best-fried chicken experience is arriving soon – crispy, juicy, and absolutely irresistible. Stay tuned for finger-lickin’ goodness!

“Our mouthwatering pizzas, burgers, chicken, and desserts are about to elevate your food game. See you in less than a month! The Good Hood is coming to level up your dining experience!”

The Good Hood says its values are “fresh, fun and offering all our customers that comfortable sense of community in the heart of your street… your HOOD!”

There are two more new venues coming soon too, with Kaspa’s Doner & Gyros and Kaspa’s Desserts due to open in the former Frankie & Benny’s site at Ocean Plaza Leisure, creating 40 new jobs.

It is further good news for the leisure park, which saw the new Coastline Crossfit gym and the Wareing Brothers cafe opening last summer.

Planning permission has also been granted for work to start on a new Victorian-style train station terminal for the Southport Pleasureland Miniature Railway, with a fish & chip café and an ice cream parlour, creating 10 new jobs.

The new additions will add to the leisure and hospitality offering already at Ocean Plaza Leisure, which includes Vue Cinema, Tenpin bowling, Playtown children’s centre, Roberto’s Italian restaurant, Everlast Gym, Nando’s restaurant and Evans Cycles.

Nando’s has been approached for comment.
