Christmas drive-in movies are a great novelty way for families to enjoy watching festive films together.
They add to a wide range of Christmas events taking place in Southport this year, with Southport BID organising events such as a Christmas Grotto, Christmas Carriage Rides, Elf Parties, a Gingerbread Trail and an Illustrate Illuminate Trail.
Moonlight Drive In Managing Director Scott Mackin said:
“We are really excited to be bringing drive-in movies to Southport this Christmas!
“People will be able to drive into Victoria Park through the gate on Rotten Row, next to the Ho Lee Chow restaurant. There will be a one-way system in place with everyone exiting at the Duke Street entrance near Morrisons supermarket.
“People will be able to tune into the sound via the 87.7FM frequency. We will have lots of stewards on site to help anyone with any questions on the night.
“People are welcome to bring their own food, and we also have food available on site through Cake Corner. People can order things like toasties, popcorn, bacon barms, and Cake Corner’s home-made cakes, and hot or cold drinks, through our website – we will then bring the food and drink straight to your car window!
“It saves people having to walk out and carry items back for their family, although we will also have a kiosk on site if people want to come and order from that directly.”
Movie-goers will be able to sit back and enjoy watching their favourite films without leaving the comfort and warmth of their own car.
Scott said: “This is something very different for people this Christmas! It’s a great novelty and a really fun experience.
“It is a very affordable and inexpensive night out for the whole family.
“When people come and watch the movies we would love them to take pictures and then post on social media to let other people know what it’s like and what they think.”
