Southport and Ormskirk Hospitals are inviting people to an annual memorial service this weekend to allow those grieving the loss of a loved one time to remember and reflect.

The service will be held at Cornerstone Methodist Church, formerly Marshside Road Methodist Church, in Southport, at 10.30am this Sunday 6th November 2022.

The service will be led by the Rev Martin Abrams and the Rev Jan Fraser from the Chaplaincy and Spiritual Care Service.

During the service, families will have the opportunity to remember their loved ones in different ways including lighting a candle, laying of a flower of remembrance, or placing a ribbon on a remembrance tree.

A pre-recorded service will also be available on the Trust’s YouTube channel here for those unable to attend from Sunday 6th November at 10:30am.

Rev Martin Abrams said:

“Our annual memorial service offers those grieving the loss of a loved one the time to come together to share a common empathy that can be so helpful when grieving.

“I do hope that both the service and the recorded event will provide support, comfort, and help to those remembering their loved ones. “

Following the service there will be time for reflection, conversation, and refreshments.
