Here are some of the places seeking support this month with details about how you can apply.

British Heart Foundation, Southport shops 

The British Heart Foundation in Southport have a number of roles they are currently recruiting for including Community Stock Generation Volunteer, Homewares Department Volunteer and Volunteer Visual Merchandiser. If you can’t commit much time to volunteering but still want to help, you can volunteer for as little as an hour either in the shops or you can help by uploading merchandise to online selling platforms. The British Heart Foundation are also an approved provider for Duke of Edinburgh Awards.

My Sighted Guide – Guide Dogs

Help support a person with sight loss in the local community building self-confidence, increasing social interaction and promoting independence by providing sighted guide assistance. Build a partnership with a service user based on a mutually agreed activity plan ranging from 3-12 months.

Rotten Row Volunteer – Friends of Rotten Row

Rotten Row is Southport’s half mile herbaceous border which has been in existence for over 100 years. This icon of the town is maintained by volunteers and the Friends of Rotten Row are looking for more people to help them maintain this beautiful border. Their sessions run from Monday and Thursday 10.00 – 3.00 – so, pop along for an hour or join for the whole session. They are a friendly bunch and finish their sessions with a cup of tea and a piece of homemade cake. Come and be part of award-winning Rotten Row and help preserve part of Southport’s heritage!

Membership Manager – RSPB Southport

RSPB Southport local group are looking for a volunteer to look after their membership list, communicate with existing members and help to recruit new people to the group. The role will involve a few hours each month and you will need some I.T. skills to be able to do this volunteer role. If you are passionate about local nature and have good administration skills, this is an ideal role for you.

Craft group volunteer– Brighter Living

Love crafting? Could you help support the facilitation of a craft group at Southport Community Centre? Brighter Living are looking for somebody who is interested in arts and craft and will bring creative ideas to the group. The group currently meets on a Wednesday afternoon, 1pm to 3pm.
