Charity Shops
Volunteering in charity shops is a great way to gain experience or clocking up those volunteering hours for your Duke of Edinburgh awards (DOE). Southport has a variety of charity shops that are looking for volunteers such as:
Nature and the Environment
As a student, you have the power to make a real difference in protecting Sefton’s green spaces. Volunteering for environmental and nature projects allows you to tackle climate change, preserve wildlife, and create greener spaces for everyone to enjoy. It’s a chance to gain hands-on experience in conservation, develop valuable skills, and meet others who share your passion for sustainability. Take a look at our nature volunteering page on our website for a full round up of what’s on offer.
Community and groups
Volunteering in the community and with local groups allow you to support local people, develop leadership and teamwork skills, and foster a stronger sense of belonging. Whether mentoring children or helping create welcoming spaces, your time and energy can transform lives—and inspire. In Southport, as a student you can volunteer for Scouts, Girl guides and other community spaces such as Ainsdale Lunch and Leisure.
