Fresh from Live at The Apollo, Mock The Week, and The Last Leg, Best Newcomer nominee Maisie Adam is at Southport Comedy Festival this Tuesday (11th October 2022) – and she is highly in demand!
Maisie will be performing her acclaimed new show for 2022, ‘Buzzed’, following her successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe.
She has already sold out the first leg of her debut tour and has been adding new dates.
Rapidly becoming a household name, and fresh from Live at The Apollo, A League of Their Own, Mock The Week, and The Last Leg, Edinburgh Best Newcomer nominee Maisie is taking the nation by storm.
Rammed with witty observations, high-octane energy and some right good jokes, this show promises to be better than whatever else you had planned (unless you had plans to go dancing with Cher).
“Her jokes were spot on, her stories magnificent and magnificently told.” Bruce Dessau
“There’s no denying that Maisie Adam is phenomenal.” The Scotsman
Maisie performed her first proper stand-up show in 2016 – a few short months later she won the UK’s largest stand-up contest, and now she is breaking through to the big time with recent appearances on Have I Got News For You, A League of Their Own, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown and Mock The Week.
Her comedy career properly kicked off in 2017, when she won the nationwide So You Think You’re Funny? competition (which was previously won by many of her comedy heroes, including Peter Kay, Aisling Bea and Tom Allen). She is the fourth woman to have done so in its 30-year history.
The following year, Maisie was nominated for the Best Newcomer award at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards for her debut show Vague, where she also won the Amused Moose National Comic Award.
The 2022 Southport Comedy Festival is now entering its final week – but don’t worry, you can still see some of the top comedians in the country!
Festival-goers have enjoyed a wonderful week and a half of laughter with stars including Milton Jones, Reginald D Hunter, Paul Sinha and others.
There are still some superb names to come with the likes of: Al Murray, Jeff Green, Jason Byrne, Maisie Adam, Jimeoin and Sam Avery!
Southport Comedy Festival has already seen some sell-out shows and people are being urged to book tickets early before the final shows sell out too.
Gigs are taking place in the Festival Marquee at Victoria Park through to Sunday, 16th October 2022 in an event sponsored by Halliwell Jones BMW.
Every gig will take place inside a luxury heated and seated marquee, provided by Elite Marquees, with food on offer from Trattoria 51 in Southport and a bar service on site.
