Line-up revealed for Southport Calling Eurovision celebration on 13th May

The line-up has been revealed for Southport Calling!

The fun-filled festival on Saturday 13th May 2023, organised by Southport BID, is a celebration of music to mark the Eurovision Song Contest, which comes to Liverpool for the first time this year.

Southport BID CEO Rachel Fitzgerald said: “Join us at the Lord Street Bandstand for a jam-packed day of performances that will showcase the tremendous musical talent in our local area.

“From 12pm to 8pm, we will be joined by dance groups, live bands, talented vocalists and many more exciting acts.

“Southport Calling will give you the chance to start your Eurovision party early.”

There is also The Eurovision Family Trail, events and The Atkinson and The Bold Hotel, plus parties and places to watch Eurovision Final.

 Family Fun 12pm – 2pm

Birkdale Orpheus Society Musical Theatre Company will perform a take on their upcoming show, Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat.

Song and dance from Holy Trinity Primary School and Choir

Dance routines from Express Performing Arts, DBA School of Dance, and Magic Movers.

The Atkinson Wellbeing Choir will sing a repertoire of Eurovision hits and classics.

 Sing For Southport 2pm – 4pm

The Sing For Southport finals will showcase some of the best local, vocal talent.  Each singer will perform their chosen song before the audience and judges will vote to decide the overall winner.

Students from Central Dance Studios will also perform dance numbers throughout.

Live Music 4pm – 8pm

Unique arrangements of British and European folk music from Southport Strings Ensemble.

Coopers House Jazz Band will kick-start an evening of live music, before ConeHeads, The Kowloons, and The Frank Flight Band rock the Bandstand until late.

Hosts for the day will be Sandgrounder Radio. 

Southport BID is also delighted to welcome Compassion Acts as official charity partners of Southport Calling.  

There will be opportunities to donate and show your support for the fantastic work they do in supporting Ukrainian refugees.
