“The back of our shirts has the line from Cheers saying ‘where everyone knows your name’ because this is what it’s like in Kokomo.

“We don’t have any televisions on in the bar. It’s a very friendly place, we love conversation instead!”

The decor has been lovingly created and curated. There are current and historical pictures and maps on almost every inch of the walls.

There are some fascinating old pictures of Southport from years gone by, and a stunning old map from 1845-46 – when Bold Street was just sand dunes!

Kokomo is always keen to work with and support other local businesses. They stock menus from a number of local cafes and restaurants in Southport town centre, allowing customers to order food if they’re hungry!

It’s a great way of local independent businesses working together.

Kokomo Coffee & Wine Bar is also part of Southport Pubwatch, a group operated by Southport BID which ensures safety across all venues.

Landlords in the pubs are all connected so are alerted any time there are ever any issues.

Kelly said: “Lots of bars in Southport town centre belong to PubWatch now.

“We all feel safe and sound here! We want our customers to be able to enjoy themselves without worrying about any idiots. If one person is barred from one venue, they are barred from all.

“We all have our PubWatch stickers displayed on our doors, so people know when they see them they can feel safe and secure on a night out. They are always looking for new members to sign up.
