A new venue has been announced for the Katie Froggatt Fundraising Festival taking place in Southport this weekend.

The event will take place this Saturday, 15th July 2023 with a series of superb acts lined up.

It was originally due to be held outdoors at Victoria Park, but due to the current weather forecast, it will now be held at Hey Amigos on West Street, Southport town centre.

The special event is being organised by Mark Pickup, owner of Southport TV and Digital Media Boutique.

Tickets can be purchased for the festival or donations made via this link: skiddle.com/e/36376885

Alongside Mark on the bill is Jimmy Allen, Ryan Holland, Paul Elder, Channe, Seani Mac, and Miech Martin.

Katie, aged 39, mum to two-year-old Myla, was told before Christmas that her cancer was terminal and that she had less than a year left to live.

But she has recently been given fresh hope with her many friends and family leading a huge fundraising drive to secure the funds needed for treatment.

Her family say they are “all so excited” about the festival this weekend.

Event organiser Mark Pickup said:

“Due to circumstances beyond our control plus adverse weather conditions forecast for Saturday we have had to move this event from Victoria Park to Hey Amigos on West Street, Southport.

“We have changed the event times ever so slightly also, moving it to 4pm-12am.

“We will have EXCLUSIVE HIRE of the venue so it won’t be open to the public and we will still be bringing you 8 hours of soul, funk and disco brought to you by 8 carefully selected DJs.

“The venue is very funky and colourful inside, it has an outside terrace, booths, seating and a photo-booth and it massively fits what we want to deliver to you to say thank you for supporting our friend on her cancer journey.

“I now also have the pleasure of announcing that our headline DJ on Saturday will be Derek Kaye, a Southport Disco Festival regular as well as all round disco edit legend and top human being and we would also like to welcome Cliff Barclay to the Southport Disco Festival DJ family.

“We will still have a glitter station with all proceeds going to Katie so please have some fun and get involved in that,  as we are now inside there obviously won’t be any food trucks so be sure to fill up your bellies before you come.

There are now just under 100 tickets left for those who are still wanting to come and join us on Saturday and of course like before, we also have some ‘non attending tickets’ available on Skiddle via this link skiddle.com/e/36376885

“Please can you help us share / WhatsApp this to make sure everyone attending sees it.

“It’s been a very stressful day rearranging this and I want to thank Hey Amigos for being able to accommodate us as an exclusive takeover at such short notice.”
