Hundreds of runners raced through the streets of Southport on Sunday as they took part in the annual Southport Half Marathon and 10k.
It was organised by Fylde Coast Runners, who said: “The Southport Half Marathon and 10k returned for its 8th and best edition to date, on the traffic free route which includes Lord Street in Southport town centre.

“The route is the only running event in the history of Southport to be permitted to close Lord Street to traffic and allow participants to run through the heart of this famous seaside resort with blingtastic medals and tech t-shirts for all finishers.”

Running enthusiasts from across the North West gathered for an exhilarating event like no other.
The eagerly anticipated race offered a thrilling challenge and breathtaking scenery.

The event showcased the very best of Southport’s charm, combining a competitive spirit with a community-driven atmosphere.
It saw seasoned athletes seeking personal bests running alongside beginners looking to embrace the joy of running.

Fylde Coast Runners said: “The Southport 10k & Half Marathon is not just about the race itself. It’s an opportunity to embrace the welcoming spirit of the local community and to connect with fellow runners who share your passion.

“From the cheering crowds lining the route to the friendly volunteers offering encouragement, every step of the way, you’ll experience the warmth and support that defines Fylde Coast Runners.”
