An eatery in Southport has launched a special ‘World of Slimmers’ menu, designed for people who want to eat healthily.
House of Ivy, based at 663 Lord Street in Southport town centre, is a cafe and bar which offers food, cocktails and house music – open from Thursday to Sunday.
It is famous for its beautiful floral decorations inside and out and its friendly, welcoming atmosphere.
The venue launched the specially-designed menu in February which has proven a big hit with customers.
It runs alongside their normal menu and comes after a lot of requests from local weight loss groups.
The menu is compatible with the UK’s leading weight loss plan and incorporates ‘Ivy Sins’ – foods which may have higher calories or higher fat content. People on their weight loss journey are encouraged to enjoy these foods in moderation.

Items on the weight loss menu include a chicken fajita rice bowl, a ‘slimmers’ breakfast, a tuna and sweetcorn jacket potato, shakshuka and more. They also have a special dish every week with items such as fish pies, chicken stroganoff and tuscan chicken.
The menu has been designed by Paul Drewery who joined Slimming World and has lost five stone in six months, since mid-November – now just one stone away from his target weight loss.
Paul said: “When you’re on your weight loss journey you have to cook a certain way and eat certain meals. I thought because I was doing it myself, why not introduce it into the res

“I decided on the menu because it’s all the foods I enjoy and it is compatible with Slimming World, all cooked in the correct way.
“There’s been a fantastic reaction from the customers, it’s highly favourable.
“My Slimming World group comes in for lunch almost every Thursday now, and other weight loss groups have started to come too. I hope more people will visit if they know the menu is compatible with Slimming World.”
