Southport Hospital

Adults and children are being urged to write letters to lonely patients who are being treated in Southport Hospital and Ormskirk Hospital.

Last month Southport & Ormskirk NHS Hospitals Trust took the step of banning visitors while staff helped patients fighting coronavirus, except in exceptional circumstances.

In order to help those being treated, they launched a system which allows families to send letters to their relatives in a safe and hygienic manner.

But unfortunately not everyone in hospital is receiving them.

A Southport Hospital spokesman said: “Recently we launched a service which allows families and friends to write to our patients during this time, whilst visiting is restricted.

‘Queenscourt offers more than being a hospice and everyone needs to know’

“This has been incredibly successful, allowing us to be able to share precious words with poorly people.

“Sadly we do have some patients who do not receive messages, and we would like your help to change this.

“Would you or your children like to write a message and email it in, to help brighten someone’s day?

“If you can help, please send to [email protected] and we will give these messages to those in need.

“Thank you for all your amazing support.”
