Potters Sports Lounge paid partnership
Formby’s spectacular new home of competitive sports socialising is opening this weekend!
Potters Sports Lounge has some of the UK’s most celebrated sporting celebrities to thank for designing its winning look.
It officially opens its doors in Formby Village at midday this Saturday (26th September 2026).
Former Liverpool FC Captain Steven Gerrard, world snooker champion Ronnie ‘The Rocket’ O’Sullivan, and current Liverpool FC star Milos Kerkez have all been involved in creating this impressive venue.
The first 250 people through the door can secure the Potters £10 annual membership for free.
The venue boasts 10 big TV screens (one, 80-inch screen and nine, 60-inch screens) offering Sky Sports and TNT Sports.
It will be screening the England v Spain UEFA Nations League game kick-off 7.45pm this Saturday.
Potters Sports Lounge has come from the conversion of former office space on the first floor at 27 Brows Lane, next to Emily’s restaurant, over the past 16 weeks.
It is the brainchild of three inspirational local business figures – Jamie Rae, Sam Canning and Lee Byrne – who wanted to offer “something new, exciting and different to anything else locally”.
Taking pride of place is a World Championship Star Snooker Table, worth £20,000, which has been kindly donated to the club by Ronnie O’Sullivan to inspire the next generation of snooker superstars.
Guests can also play on one of five championship pool tables.
There are three professional interactive darts lanes, with a Scolia self-scoring tech system.
The venue is family-friendly and suitable for all ages.
There is an impressive cocktail list, wine list, draught beers, bespoke wine and gin perfect serves, match day special offers, plus a range of drinks behind the bar.
A glittering array of signed sports shirts and memorabilia lines the walls, honouring stars from football teams including Liverpool, Everton, England, Manchester City, Manchester United, Rangers and Celtic, plus legends from the world of boxing, snooker and darts.
Famous names on show include Steven Gerrard, Sir Kenny Dalglish, Virgil Van Dijk, Alexis Mac Allister, Alisson Becker, Duncan Ferguson, Jordan Pickford, Leighton Baines, Paul Gascoigne, Henrik Larsson, Luke ‘The Nuke’ Littler, Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor, Tyson Fury, Erling Haaland, Bruno Fernandes, and more.
Potters Sports Lounge hosted a soft launch on Friday evening, where special guests included champion boxer Liam Smith, ahead of a busy first day this Saturday.

“The past 16 weeks have involved a huge amount of hard work, but they’ve gone incredibly fast.
“We’re so pleased to invite people in and see what they think.
“We really wanted to create something new, exciting and completely different to anything else in the region.
“There are lots of superb restaurants, cafes and bars locally, where you can get something to eat and drink, and we wanted to add to that with somewhere you can come for a unique competitive sporting experience.
“This is a top quality sports lounge. It’s not your typical sports hall from years gone by, all the facilities in here are very high end and feature the latest technology.
“We are very welcoming to families, to men and women, to people of all ages. It’s a very friendly and inclusive space.
“We’d love to see local darts teams and pool teams come and speak to us about joining.
“We have the one and only Declan Brennan, the Ultimate Pool Tour world number one, as a resident pool player.
“We are keen to get a junior academy up and running, to help children learn how to play snooker, pool and darts. Figures like Luke Littler and Ronnie O’Sullivan have done so much to inspire children to try these sports so now they’ll be able to enjoy the opportunity to come and play.

“Our opening hours will be 10.30am-11.30pm every Sunday to Thursday and 10.30am-12.30am every Friday and Saturday.
