There is lots for families to enjoy in Southport this weekend – which will see Mother’s Day this Sunday!
Enjoy a Spring Flower Festival this Saturday; jump on board a vintage bus this Sunday to support the Elsie’s Story charity; catch a show at Southport Little Theatre.
Here are some of the things you can enjoy in Southport this weekend:
1 – Spring Flower Festival
The Creative Village Spring Flower Festival stalls and workshops at Wayfarers Arcade this Saturday(29th March 2025) will offer so much creativity and beauty that the season of spring brings…
As well as our gardens at home and local Southport parks, Wayfarers Arcade on Lord Street will also be blooming with florals in celebration of this beautiful season upon us. There will be local and handmade craft stalls, floral inspired delicious sweet treats and drinks, live music and a selection of children’s and adults floral workshops.
Workshops and stalls will be taking place between 11-4pm this Saturday which is perfect timing to pick up some unique and special treasures for the perfect Mother’s Day gift!
2 – Private Lives
28th March – 5th April 2025
By Southport Dramatic Club at Southport Little Theatre
A comedy of manners by Noel Coward. You will be transported to 1930’s France to see what happens when former sparring spouses are unexpectedly reunited when honeymooning with their new partners.
Passions still run high; will it result in arguments, amour, or a bit of both? Join us and find out!

3 – Construction Club

An Atkinson spokesperson said: “Calling all young inventors, creators, and builders! Join us for our Construction Club and unleash your imagination with a massive supply of LEGO bricks.
“Founded in Denmark in 1932, LEGO has become a beloved part of childhoods worldwide.
“This iconic toy was inducted into the National Toy Hall of Fame in 1998, a testament to its enduring popularity.
“Let’s build together!
“Construction Club takes place on the last Saturday of each month. Admission is free, but spaces are limited, so please arrive in good time. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.”

4 – Southport Heritage Running Day
People are invited to enjoy a trip back in time with beautifully restored classic buses operating free routes around Southport.
Southport Heritage Running Day 2025 will take place on Mother’s Day (Sunday 30th March 2025).
Between 10.30am and 5pm, people will be able to jump on board buses operated by the North West Vehicle Restoration Trust from the former Floral Hall / Southport Theatre site on the Promenade.
The day is aiming to raise money for the Elsie’s Story charity through donations.
Bus passengers can also buy a special full colour programme and vehicle working diagram on the day for £5.
Event co-organiser James Rowlands said: “Sunday sees the North West Vehicle Restoration Trust operate a network of routes around Southport using our vintage buses.
“The buses are free to ride on but any donations made on the day will go to the Elsie’s Story charity.
“Buses depart regularly from the Floral Hall from 10am onwards, with very frequent links to Southport Railway Station.
“Come and ride on our history and support such a fantastic cause.
“We look forward to seeing you there.”
5 – Mother’s Day Rave
Join in a Mother’s Day Rave at Southport market with Starkidz on Sunday 30th March 2025.
Come along and join in the Superhero vs Princess theme.
You can also have some amazing food and drinks whilst you are here and make a day of it.
There are sessions at 11am and 1.30pm.
