The first Southport Artisan Market is coming to Southport Market this Saturday (7th March 2026) bringing a brand new event to the town.

People are invited to call in and enjoy a vibrant celebration of creativity, community, and local talent—right at the heart of Southport Market Quarter – between 10am and 4pm.

Discover over 50 independent stalls showcasing the very best in arts, crafts, handmade goods, food, and drink from talented local makers and producers. Whether you’re hunting for unique gifts, delicious treats, or something special for yourself, you’ll find it here.

Enjoy live entertainment throughout the day, with performances taking place both inside the market and outside along King Street and on the newly-pedestrianised Market Street— creating a buzzing atmosphere perfect for all ages.

Entry is free, all welcome.

Southport Artisan Market is proudly hosted by the award‑winning Independent Street working in collaboration with Southport Market Hall and Sefton Council and will take place on the first Saturday of every month throughout the year.

From the very best of local award-winning food, to fresh produce, arts and craft and vintage wares … plus live music and free children’s craft activities, there will be something for everyone!

Independent Street champions small businesses and provides a platform for local artisans to showcase to their community.

Lisa Cowley, Founder of Independent Street, said:

“We are absolutely thrilled to be launching these new monthly markets in Southport.

“Southport Market is a shining example of how investment in traditional market towns can help revitalise communities and support independent traders. Its ethos of championing small businesses perfectly reflects our own mission at Independent Street.

“Events like this are a great way to bring the community together, whilst boosting footfall and connecting visitors with local businesses. We can’t wait to see you all there”.

Cllr Paulette Lappin, Deputy Leader of Sefton Council and Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Economy and Skills, said:

“We’re thrilled to welcome Independent Street to Southport Market, especially now we have such a beautifully enhanced outdoor space thanks to the Les Transformation public realm works.

“The Independent Street events guarantee to bring a real vibrancy to the Market Quarter and we can’t wait to see the buzz it generates.

“The addition of this new outdoor market is a perfect complement to the existing delicious array of vendors inside the market hall and is a wonderful way to take full advantage of the beautifully refurbished and revitalised public realm throughout the Market Quarter in Southport Town Centre.”

This year there will be inside and outside trade options available and local artisans are asked to get in touch to showcase.
