120 children from Farnborough Road Junior School were lucky to become bakers for the morning at The Dutch Bakery in Birkdale in Southport.
Suzanne Allen from Farnborough Road said: “The Year 4 children made their own biscuits in school the previous week as part of their Design Technology topic this term.
“They then went to see how the professionals do it!
“Derek and his team gave the children the tour and showed them how all the machinery works in a working bakery.
“At Farnborough Road Junior School we value giving the children a balanced and varied curriculum and are fortunate to have local businesses like The Dutch Bakery provide such valuable experiences – not to mention the delicious shortbread the children made and devoured later on!”
