People can enjoy a rare chance to see inside Southport’s oldest church today. 

St Cuthbert’s Church, on St. Cuthberts Road, Churchtown, Southport, PR9 7NN has been serving parishioners in the area for nearly a thousand years. 

St Cuthbert’s Church has been here since 1178.
Due to lack of volunteers, it is only able to be opened on special open days.

You can see it between 11am and 4pm today (Saturday 9th September 2023) as part of this year’s Heritage Open Days scheme. 

North Meols Family History Society will be in the Church Hall all day as well with their open day.

Nearby, the Fernery at the Botanic Gardens will be open under the Heritage Open days scheme too.
All are free to enter.

There is limited car parking outside of the church, which does not have its own car park. You may need to park nearby and walk to the church.

Maximum 40 people per tour / session. half an hour

St Cuthbert’s Church is located in the heart of Churchtown Village. Across the road from Meols Hall and five minutes from Botanic Gardens (49 bus stops just by Botanic)
