North Meols (Southport) Family History Society is inviting people to enjoy its annual Open Day this weekend.

The event takes place this Saturday, 9th September 2023 from 11am to 4pm at The Parochial Hall, Churchtown..

Gladys Armstrong from North Meols (Southport) Family History Society said: “If you have ever wondered where you, your parents, your grandparents (and so on) came from then this is the time to stop wondering and find out!

“We have lots of local and national information to pass on as well as having Ormskirk & District Family History Society joining us.

“We will feature our display on the progress we are making on a major project which we have started which involves researching the lives of the military personnel who have Commonwealth War Graves in St Cuthbert’s, St John’s and St Stephen’s Churchyards.

“We look forward to meeting you and helping you with your searches – come and join us next door to The Hesketh Arms and St Cuthbert’s Church on the other side – they are both open!”

The North Meols Family History Society provides resources, encouragement and a friendly face, to help get you started in your ancestor search.

The group’s aim is to promote the advancement of public education in the study of Genealogy, Heraldry and Local History.

North Meols Family History Society holds regular monthly meetings where anyone can come along and learn more about family history.
