The Endoscopy Unit has been awarded the Clinical Team of the Year Award at the 2023 Time To Shine Awards.
NHS heroes from the team were among colleagues from Southport and Ormskirk hospitals who were celebrated at the special awards ceremony at Formby Golf Resort and Spa.
The development of exciting new facilities for endoscopy services led to some challenges but this dedicated team has taken everything in their stride and done all they can to ensure patients are well cared for.
The team has worked tirelessly to keep waiting lists to a minimum while providing a high-quality service for patients.
Two outstanding finalists were also recognised for their work at the Time To Shine Awards.
Delivering care across every specialty, the Therapies Department team is vital to the Trust. Their dedication and teamwork and support for nursing staff improves outcomes, reduces length of stay and prevents re-admission.
Patients are continually praising members of the team and say the reassurance and confidence they provide should never be taken for granted.
The newly established Ward 11a cares for patients who are ready for discharge with a requirement for additional therapy.
This superb team strives daily to provide patient-centred care, achieving a silver SOCCAS on its first assessment with staff receiving numerous individual awards for their commitment to delivering great care.
Individuals and teams from a wide range of areas were celebrated for their “amazing commitment’’ to providing the best possible care for local patients and their families at the hospitals’ 2023 Time to Shine Awards.
It was hosted by Liverpool radio personality Peter Price while sponsors included Vinci Facilities, Hill Dickinson and Weightmans.
Chief Executive Ann Marr OBE said: I have been highly impressed by all of the inspiring nominations we received from colleagues, patients and members of the public and the message I would like to pass on is that you should never underestimate the difference you make to those around you, each and every day.’’
