Ed Byrne has been revealed as the best-reviewed stand-up comic performing at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2023, according to analysis carried out by the British Comedy Guide.
Comedy lovers will get the chance to see the comedian’s new tour in person when he performs in Southport in March.
The Comedy Guide says that their run-down of the most critically-acclaimed comedy productions being staged at the Fringe this year is based on 4,644 star-rated reviews issued by 119 different publications, ranging from broadsheet newspapers through to fan-run blogs.
With an average rating of 4.6 stars across twenty-two write-ups, Ed Byrne’s brilliant Tragedy Plus Time was the best-reviewed stand-up show at the festival.
Big Comedy UK is delighted to announce that Ed Byrne will be bringing his brand-new show Tragedy Plus Time to the Little Theatre Southport on Thursday 7th March 2024 as part of a national tour.
The show, which started with a month-long run at the Edinburgh Festival where it has been receiving 5 star reviews, has been extended into next year due to nationwide sell-out dates this autumn.
The comedian’s brother, comedy director Paul Byrne, died last year of Hodgkin Lymphoma.
Attributed to Mark Twain, humour is defined as Tragedy Plus Time. Ed Byrne tests that formula by mining the most tragic event in his life for laughs.
