The Easter holidays have arrived! And popular Southport family attractions such as Silcock’s Carousel, Funland and the Pier Family Restaurant are excited to welcome families.

The sun is shining with a brilliant forecast for the forthcoming days.

There is even a new Bear in town, with the colourful bear sculpture in front of Funland one of 10 in Bear Hunt Trail – inspired by the popular We’re Going On A Bear Hunt children’s book – that you can discover at locations throughout Southport town centre.

Silcock’s Operations Manager Serena Silcock-Prince said:

“We’re so excited to see Southport full of visitors this Easter!

“The weather is superb and there are so many reasons for families to come and enjoy all that our town has to offer – whether it’s for a day visit, or to stay here for a few days over the school holidays.

“There is plenty to keep you busy on the Promenade and next to the Marine Lake.

“You can ride the Carousel; or enjoy rides, amusements and the Hall Of Mirrors inside Funland.

“You can also savour some delicious fish and chips in our Pier Family Restaurant, or in the sunshine on the benches outside – or take in the beautiful views across Marine Lake and King’s Gardens from our Balcony Bar.

“The boats are now back out on the Marine Lake, or you can play crazy golf at Master’s Crazy Golf in King’s Gardens, while there are lots of superb shops, restaurants and cafes on and around Lord Street.

“At Silcock’s, we offer great value with just £2 per rider on our Victorian era Carousel, which has thrilled generations of people.

“Inside Funland, Southport’s biggest indoor amusement centre, games start at just 2pm each, with lots of Easter themed prizes to be won.

“Our chocolate Easter egg  ice creams, at just £4.50 each, are the cheapest in Southport.

“Look out for special appearances by our Silcock’s Easter Bunny character too!”

A popular new addition has been the colourful new bear sculpture.

Serena said: “Our Bear Hunt bear – named ‘Jester’ – has been extremely popular since arriving here in February!

“We have seen families queuing up to take their pictures with it. It’s been incredibly popular, and it’s attracted so many people.

“We love seeing all the pictures of the bears that people have been posting across social media!

“Southport is an unbeatable place for families to visit during Easter, and we can’t wait to see everyone.”

The 121-year-old Silcock’s Carousel was built in 1901 in the reign of Queen Victoria.

Two years ago it was recognised as the fourth best seaside attraction in Britain in the 2023 Bucket and Spade List, organised by the The Seaside Heritage Network.
