David Massam

David Massam of Massam and Marshall Independent Funeral Directors has been successfully voted on to the National Executive Committee of the Society of Allied Independent Funeral Directors.

David, who has funeral homes on Manchester Road, Southport and Liverpool Road in Birkdale as well as in Parbold in West Lancashire was recently awarded the acco lade at the SAIF Annual General Meeting held in Kent where independent funeral directors from across the country voted him in to stand in this role.

SAIF was established to support independent, mostly family owned funeral directors, concerned about the proliferation of larger conglomerates. They currently have over 1,000 members across 1,865 sites, as well as an additional 100 Associate members who supply products or services to the funeral profession.

David’s new role at SAIF will involve discussion at a national level around issues which affect the funeral profession as well as being part of the national Quality Assurance programme which ensures members of SAIF are adhering to strict standards and the code of practice so that clients can have peace of mind.

David said: “What an absolute honour that after only three short years I am able to partake in real discussion at a national level which will benefit clients across the country.”

Massam and Marshall Independent Funeral Directors have continued to make a big impact within the community with their regular bereavement cafes and services as well as involvement in local charitable events.
