The iconic Cranberry’s coffee shop in Southport is closing its doors after 28 years as c customers called for a petition to save it.
The popular cafe, inside Cambridge Walks, is reluctantly saying farewell to customers afer their landlord said “a renewal of the lease is not available”.
Caroline Molloy the owner of Cranberry’s coffee shop said:
“We never thought this day would come but we are sorry to announce that from the end of September Cranberry’s will close its doors for the last time.
“Our lease has come to an end and a renewal of our lease is not available.
“We have spent the last 28 years serving some of the best people of Southport and beyond and have loved every minute of it.
“We are devastated but will remember all of you with love and affection.
“If you can, come to see us so we can say our goodbyes before we move on to pastures new.
“We will be taking some time off to process it all but keep an eye out on our socials and we hope to see you again in the not too distant future…..”
Cranberry’s customers speaking on social media revealed how devastated they are.
Suzy Walker said: “this is a travesty…………… Let’s start a petition!”
Debs Hughes said: “So sorry to hear this. You will be missed!”
Yvonne Taylor said: “Really sorry too hear you are going my children and grandchildren came in with me you saw them grow up. We will miss you all your food was lovely and you made everyone so welcome xx”
Sue Tickle said: “Aww so sorry to hear your closing it’s our favourite place when we visit Southport will miss you and wishing you all the very best of luck xx”
Debbie Whiting said: “Oh no!! Gutted! Was our go-to for lovely service and lovely GF food!!
