Cornerstone Library in Southport is inviting people to attend a Trustee Open Day being held at the library this Saturday (19th September 2026), from 1.00pm to 3.00pm.

The event is aimed at anyone interested in supporting the library, whether as a trustee, sponsor, business supporter, volunteer, who would like to become more involved in helping the library thrive.

A Cornerstone Library spokesperson said:

“The Trustees are hosting the Open Day to raise awareness of the opportunities available and to encourage people with a range of skills and experiences to consider getting involved.

“We are particularly keen to build resilience within the organisation and broaden the skills of our trustee team.

“The event will be promoted through our website and social media, our volunteering page on the website is https://cornerstonelibrary.org/volunteering/

“Anyone interested in finding out more is very welcome to come along and meet the trustees in an informal setting.”

Cornerstone Library, based at Cornerstone Church, 1 Marshside Road, is a welcoming community library in Churchtown, run by more than 40 dedicated volunteers.

Open five sessions a week, they offer over 3,400 books, free computer access, and a growing range of services, including Rhyme-time / Story-time, and new ways of bringing the library into the wider community.

They believe a library is about more than books. It is a place to discover, connect, and belong. Come in, find something you love, and make Cornerstone your own.
