Jason Byrne

Comedy genius Jason Byrne is revved up and ready to turn stand-up on its head AGAIN, as he prepares to return to Southport Comedy Festival this autumn.

Jason will perform at Victoria Park in Southport on Saturday 12th October 2024, as part of his  brand-new show ‘NO SHOW’ tour.

Ticket are on sale from 10am this Thursday (22nd February 2024) at: : southportcomedyfestival.com

Jason Byrne is excited to return to the Edinburgh Festival this year from 1st – 25th August 2024 with NO SHOW followed by a major UK tour from 3rd October – 30th November 2024.  Tickets are on sale on Thursday 22 February 2024 from JasonByrne.ie.

Renowned for leaving audiences in stitches, Jason is more prepared than ever to hit the fringe and his tour with his much-loved madness.

There is no show like a Jason Byrne ‘NO SHOW’. This is a show with no comedy safety net. By the end of ‘NO SHOW’, audiences will have experienced a once in a lifetime show…or ‘NO SHOW’.  Jason and the audience will begin ‘NO SHOW’ with no show whatsoever.  Witness Jason using his infamous audience interactions with a sprinkle of props, both on and off stage, to create ‘NO SHOW’!  And ‘NO SHOW’ will never ever be repeated!

Jason said about NO SHOW: “I can’t wait to take NO SHOW to the Edinburgh Festival and on the road! NO SHOW is literally me hanging onto the edge of a cliff by my fingernails. as audiences witness me turn a NO SHOW into a show! Using the beautiful, improvised madness that flows between myself and the audiences to create an amazing one-off performance! Comedy without the safety net!”

Jason’s effervescent and hilariously daft style of riotous live comedy is sparked by off-the-cuff interactions with the audience that ‘NO SHOW’ will undoubtedly epitomise. Don’t miss ‘NO SHOW’ and the chance to be part of the laughter-filled madness. Audiences best buckle up, brace themselves and be ready for a whirlwind of a ride that promises an unforgettable night of side-splitting hilarity!

After a hugely successful run at the Edinburgh Festival in 2022, Jason will also be bringing ‘THE PADDY LAMA – SHED TALKS’ to London’s Museum of Comedy for a strictly limited run from 16th April – 21st April.  In this one-man play in which Jason plays his dad, we listen as Paddy takes us through his life, from being a young boy in Dublin, to blowing up the Gas plant as a Guinness worker in the 80’s. The Irish Times stamped four stars on the play, (not that Paddy would care!) Paddy unapologetically shares 80 years of wisdom and wit directly from his shed in Dublin that will leave audiences feeling warm inside!

Jason said about Paddy Lama: “I am so excited to bring ‘THE PADDY LAMA – SHED TALKS’ to London this summer. This is a heartwarming, funny, tears down the face, tribute to my dad Paddy Byrne. Everyone in the world has a Paddy in their life. Paddy is your dad, grandad, husband, brother, or son, so if you want to laugh, cry and listen to crap advice, ‘THE PADDY LAMA – SHED TALKS’ will be sure to resurrect some beautiful memories in your hearts.”

Jason’s career has seen him awarded the UK Radio industry’s prestigious Sony Radio Gold Award for his Radio 2 show.  He has hosted his own chat show ‘Jason Byrne’s Snaptastic Show’ for TV3 in Ireland and co-presented ‘Wild Things’ on Sky One.

TV appearances include Amazon’s Last One Laughing, The Royal Variety Performance, The Graham Norton Show, Live at the Apollo (BBC One), Anonymous in Ireland and The John Bishop Christmas Show (BBC One).  Byrne is also a highly sought after in Australia.  He has appeared on the prestigious Melbourne International Comedy Festival televised galas and The Great Debate as well as Network Ten’s The Project and NZ’s top-rating 7Days on TV3.

Jason released his memoir, Adventures of a Wonky Eyed Boy: The Short Arse Years in 2016.  Following the success of this book, Jason published his second last year, Memoirs of a Wonky-eyed Man: The Dad-knows-Best-Years, a celebration of life and Jason’s wonderful relationship with his dad.

Jason is the sixth big name to be announced for this year’s 17 day Southport Comedy Festival which will be held for a fourth year in a luxury heated and seated marquee courtesy of Elite Marquees at Victoria Park.

Jason will be joining the undisputed godfather of modern stand-Up Ben Elton,  Persian Comedy Powerhouse Omid Djalili,  German Comedy Ambassador Henning Wehn, Irish funnyman from Australia Jimeoin and host of smash hit podcast ‘Have a Word’, Dan Nightingale, with more exciting names to be announced soon.
