Coffee King paid partnership
The owners of Coffee King have revealed why they have invested in opening their biggest ever premium café in Liverpool this week.
The new Coffee King outlet – their sixth – will open to the public on Myrtle Street, next door to the iconic Philharmonic Hall, from midday on Tuesday (2nd September 2026).
It’s expected to be a busy opening; the first 50 customers through the door on launch day can order a free barista-made drink, with additional discounts available throughout the day.
The 3,600 sq ft venue is the newest arrival in the thriving Georgian Quarter and is surrounded by university buildings and student accommodation.

The new Coffee King is opening just before students arrive back for Freshers Week and a new academic year, with a 10% discount for students.
Customers can enjoy specialty coffee, signature savoury croissants and a range of freshly baked cakes, alongside free Wi-Fi, ample plug sockets and comfortable seating designed for studying, remote working or meeting friends.

Coffee King has been operating successful sites in West Kirby, Halifax, and Liverpool ONE, before going on to open further outlets in Southport in April and Warrington in June.
Their Liverpool ONE site opened in March 2025 and has been such a huge hit locally that owners have been searching for their perfect second location in the city.

Coffee King was founded by CEO Sean Le Tissier in 2016 with the new venture a great way to mark the growing firm’s 10th anniversary.
Coffee King is currently creating an impressive purpose-built 55,000 sq ft production base in Deeside which will be home to an in-house bakery, showroom, experience centre and roastery.
It will ensure its own coffee beans can be roasted and food baked fresh, while being able to supply other hospitality firms. The site will be a hub for training as well as showcasing who Coffee King is and how they operate.
Coffee King Head of Operations Ellis Le Tissier said:
“We are really excited to be opening our brand new Coffee King on Myrtle Street on Street. We’d love to invite people to come and see what we’re all about!
“Our staff here are really good, very friendly, and all ready to go!

“Our Liverpool ONE outlet has proved to be extremely popular and we’re pleased to have found our perfect second site here.
“The two venues will be able to work together, giving customers greater choice through opening a new location.
“Liverpool is an amazing city which has grown so much in recent years, especially since its successful Capital of Culture year in 2008.
“It has flourished not just economically but also reputationally to become a leading world destination, and we’re proud to be investing here and to become part of Liverpool’s continued growth and resurgence.

“We identified this site in January and will be opening the doors at the start of September so it’s been a fast and efficient process. I’d like to thank our team for everything they’ve achieved.”
Ellis believes the new venue will thrive by offering something new and exciting for people.
He said: “Coffee King is a family-run independent chain.
“We want to be able to challenge some of the big corporate coffee chains through the quality of our coffee and everything else that we offer.

“We are very ambitious in what we want to achieve. Myrtle Street will be our sixth premium
café while our new roastery and production site in Deeside is due to open early next year.
“We want to continue expanding across the UK.
“We are already in Spain and aim to expand into Europe and the USA too, and beyond.

“These are exciting times for Coffee King and we’re looking forward to seeing everyone at the opening of our new premium café.”
The Coffee King café will open fully to the public from: 1st September 2026, 12noon.
