The Assistant Manager at Coast in Birkdale Village in Southport is getting ready to take on a skydive to raise funds for Queenscourt Hospice – despite being terrified of heights!
Jitka Wilson will take on the terrifying challenge on Saturday 19th September 2026.
She has long been a supporter of Queenscourt, across various events, and was keen to take on something new to raise funds for the charity.

Jitka said: “I was born in Prague in 1982 and moved to Southport in 2013 with my husband Nei Wilson. .
“My background has always been in hospitality.
“I have worked in a variety of hospitality outlets in Southport such as at Remedy, The Grand and have worked for nearly three years at Coast in Birkdale Village.
“After having enjoyed a great night at the Queenscourt Strictly event at The Prince Of Wales Hotel in Southport last year and more recently the Star Trekk 10k walk in Southport I began to think what else I could do to help such a great local charity.
“I searched the Queenscourt Hospice website and came across the skydive challenge and crazily I signed up to do it!
“I have never done a skydive before and I’m terrified of heights so I thought what a great way to challenge myself. I’m terrified and excited all at the same time although I think my husband is more scared of me doing it than I am!”
Queenscourt Hospice has been providing compassionate care for the people of West Lancashire, Formby and Southport for over 30 years.They care for patients with serious illnesses, enabling them to achieve the best possible quality of life at each new stage.
Queenscourt cares for patients both in the hospice and at home through their In-Patient Unit, Queenscourt Connect and Queenscourt at Home services. Queenscourt requires over 100 professional staff members to stay open, including Doctors, Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, Physiotherapists and many other roles.
