Katie Quinn and Lisa Ohare, owners of Clean Queens in Southport

Southport’s answers to Mrs Hinch have teamed up to offer a range of cleaning services in the area.

Four months into the Coronavirus outbreak, and cleanliness is more vital now than it has ever been.

Families, businesses and schools all need to feel secure in their environment.

Lisa Ohare and Katie Quinn have now teamed up to launch Clean Queens.

They said: “We have both cleaned before. We have now joined together, and have more than 10 years experience between us.

“We offer a professional cleaning service for domestic and commercial premises.

“We carry out regular cleans, one-off cleans, end of tenancy cleans, both interior and exterior.

“We also offer a handyman service, soffits fascia and gutter cleans, wheelie bin cleans, and inside windows – no job is too big or too small.”

Clean Queens cover Southport and the surrounding area, including Banks, Formby, Ormskirk and Preston.

Since the Coronavirus outbreak struck the UK in March, good quality professional cleaners have been more in demand than ever.

Lisa and Katie said: “Cleaning homes and businesses thoroughly is more important than ever. With more than 10 years’ experience we know what we are doing.

“We have got full PPE equipment which we use when we are cleaning, as well as being fully insured, so customers can have every confidence in what we do. We wear masks, visors, aprons and gloves.

“We are following all of the latest Government guidelines and keep up to date with new guidance all the time. We are taking all the safety measures we can.

“We are both also mobile, we can drive anywhere. Our new Clean Queens van will enable us to transport any cleaning machinery we need, while we have a large car too which enables us to carry people’s shopping.”

Lisa and Katie regularly visit after the homes of a number of retired people locally, who they enjoy looking after.

The Coronavirus outbreak, and the months of lockdown which followed, have been difficult times for lots of people. With social distancing, rules over wearing face masks and other new ways of life to get used to, the friends have been going the extra mile to look after their elderly clients when they need them most.

Nothing is too much trouble, and they are flexible in the help they can offer. This can include doing cleaning, going on shopping runs, even making essential home repairs with their handyman service.

They offer a 10% discount for pensioners, and for NHS staff too.

They said: “We look after one elderly lady who has been dreading the new ruling on having to wear face masks inside shops and supermarkets coming in. She struggles to breathe very well and masks don’t help with that. So we are happy to be able to help her with her shopping and with any other small tasks that she needs doing.

“If it is going to keep people safe then it is better to be safe than sorry.

“Other people have got similar worries and everyone is facing lots of new challenges which they didn’t have to face before. We are here to help.”

With years of experience and strong contacts within the cleaning industry, they can also take on large contracts too such as cleaning offices, shops, schools, nurseries and other businesses.

Lisa and Katie said: “We can get a team together whenever we need to, we have got lots of good contacts. We are happy to take on a variety of cleaning assignments, whether it’s a regular contract or a one-off job such as doing a deep clean for a shop or a school.

“The housing market has started to move again and we are able to ensure a thorough clean of a new home before new owners move in. With the new Stamp Duty holiday coming in, lots of people are looking to move house.

“We are also taking on lots of deep cleaning jobs for the end of people’s tenancies.

“Lots of people have been having building work or extensions done during the last few months and that is something else we specialise in too. When builders have been in, we do carry out extended cleans.

“There are lots of cleaning jobs that Clean Queens can take on. We do full cleans of people’s wheelie bins. We clean gutters, and fascias.

“We literally take on anything – if it needs cleaning we will clean it!

“All of the products we use are anti bacterial. We are making sure that we leave no germs behind.

“We are really reliable and caring too. Our service is not just about cleaning. We are very thoughtful too and we look after our customers.”
