Christmas Markets are coming to Southport this year!
Festive themed artisan stalls will be situated outside Southport Market, in Southport town centre, from Friday, 10th December through to Thursday, 23rd December.
Expect to find plenty of local crafts, gifts and treats inside outdoor chalets featuring a wealth of present and gift ideas in the area around the market.
The markets will run between 9am and 5.30pm each day.
Sefton Council’s Tourism team, which runs the event, is looking for more traders to join. If you are interested please email them at: tourism@sefton.gov.uk
It will also be a great chance for people to visit the growing number of independent local businesses in Southport Market Quarter.
Cllr Marion Atkinson, Sefton Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Skills, said: “Southport Market will be a winter wonderland with fun for all the family this December.
“There is plenty on offer from our incredible traders and they will be complimented by a selection of outdoor shopping chalets.”
This December, there will be a host of other festive attractions at Southport Market, based on King Street.
Lighting experts IllumiDex UK Ltd have transformed the venue into a beautiful winter wonderland with a tunnel of lights in the entrance, festive lighting, Christmas wreaths, baubles, garlands, and other festive decorations. The firm created the ‘boulevard of light’ with 300,000 lights along Lord Street in Southport earlier this year.

Anyone wanting to arrange a Christmas get together at the market can book and reserve tables by pre-purchasing a drinks package between December 3rd and 18th, while from December 11th free festive films will be shown in the market’s events space, in partnership with Bijou Cinema in Southport.
Also starting from December 11th, children will be able to visit the market’s special North Pole post office drop-off to ensure their letters to Santa, while Father Christmas and his elves will also be making a special guest appearance on certain dates.
